How do I get my child started in dyslexia therapy or reading intervention?

Does my child have to be dyslexic in order to receive dyslexia therapy or reading intervention?
No! At A Multisensory Approach, we do not require that a child be qualified with dyslexia to receive support. A structured literacy program is great for any struggling reader.
Is dyslexia therapy the same as tutoring?
Dyslexia therapy is more than just tutoring. Therapy utilizes a comprehensive structured literacy program. A Multisensory Approach utilizes the Take Flight and Jet programs that can only be taught by a certified academic language therapist.
What materials does my child need?
For virtual sessions, your child will need a laptop or desktop with consistent, reliable internet connection, as well as a whiteboard and dry erase markers. Any additional materials may be sent to you before therapy begins.
What payment methods are accepted?

When is payment due?
We require for the payment to be made a week at a time, by 9am CST on Mondays.
For example, if your sessions are scheduled for Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays at 6pm, you will need to make your weekly payment by Monday at 9am. If you sessions are scheduled for Tuesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays, you will need to make your weekly payment by Monday at 9am.
If for whatever reason payment is not received by Monday at 9am CST, the sessions will not take place for that week until payment is made.
What should I do if my child needs to miss a session?
The goal is for you to have a set schedule for sessions. We are holding the time slot on the set day/time for your family. However, we do understand that life happens, and things come up.
If you need to miss a session, we ask that you email/text/call us at (903) 403 - 1469 as soon as possible.
If a session is canceled in advance (before the session start time that day), you will be given the opportunity to reschedule the missed session at a day/time that is agreed upon between you and the therapist.
If a session is not canceled in advance, we will try our best to accommodate you - however, if you are not available at any of the days/times provided by the therapist, then the session will count as forfeited. If there are extenuating circumstances, please discuss with us.
If you are planning vacation, or have an event in which your child will not attend sessions for a period of time, notify your therapist as soon as possible.
No monetary refunds will be given for forfeited sessions.
